Shalini is a businesswoman, based out of New Delhi, India. With an extensive experience of over 23 years in the Pharma, Health, and Commodities trading industries, she has built robust business partnerships across multiple continents. Shalini is an expert when it comes to trading in the Middle East, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the overall MENA regions.
Coming from a family of doctors, Shalini had a curious mind and interest in academics and policy making ever since childhood. She made her way out of a small town in Bihar to secure a graduate degree from Delhi University. She holds a degree in Mass Communication and a Bachelor’s Degree in Law. Shalini started her career as a journalist in New Delhi, which allowed her to understand political influences and bureaucratic red tape that exist at the grassroots levels and how they affect businesses and their operations. Excited by the challenges and opportunities in trading and an interest in the dynamic Pharma and Health sector, stemming from her parent’s background in medicine, Shalini decided to shift lanes in her career. She leveraged her education and work experience to make a foray into trading in pharmaceuticals and healthcare.
Shalini firmly believes that in today’s globalized and increasingly connected world, healthcare should be a right and not a privilege. She is focussed on exploring areas in the pharma industry and building relationships that can expand healthcare access to all including the poorest of the poor. With a positive outlook on health technologies and her entrepreneurial spirit and understanding of the trade dynamics in these regions, she founded AKS International LLC.
A seasoned Supply Chain Finance professional with 20 years of productive and varied experience in customizing and structuring sales/purchase invoice finance programs for Corporate clients, Dealers, Vendors, Manufacturers, Traders, and MSME. Expertise in trade finance products, Customer Relationship management & team management with hands-on working experience on supply chain finance, working capital loans, Forex, Business Development, Credit Operations, Training, and Development.
A facilitative manager adept in analytical & organized with strong experience in analyzing, evaluating and mitigating trade finance risks; involved in carrying out international trade finance operations involving trade loans & advances based on international rules such as UCP-600, ISBP-2007,URDG-758,URR-725 & domestic regulatory guidelines of RBI, FEMA and FEDAI.
